Congratulations Vanda on the posting of the manuscript for your next novel , and on time too. Your fans, of which I am one, will now wait with impatience for it to arrive as a finished book.

And congratulations from me too. Both Hubby and I look forward to this 3rd instalment. Have a great day!

Congratulations, Vanda. In Holland, parents, family and friends celebrate the birth of a new baby by eating sugared almonds (yes, shamelessly traditional - pink for girls and blue for boys!). You should treat yourself to an extravagant, multi-coloured mix! L, C X

Congratulations Vanda! I'm jealous and impressed. How long are your novels generally? I'm trying to snatch writing time when the little one has his naps... except that he seems to have given up on the whole concept so I just stare longingly at my computer. I still have Tuesdays and this afternoon though!

Thanks everyone. Claire, I thought it appropriate to celebrate the birth of a crime novel with something red that has an alcohol content!

This one is 76000 words at the moment. And now its in my publishers hands and I'm hoping he doesn't come back and say fix that, that doesn't work, or what rot! The usual anxieties and insecurities of a writer.

Rachael, I cried when my little fella gave up his sleeps as it meant less writing time. But one day, they go to school...

Noooo! That's another 3 years away and who knows how many babies to come? (Not more than one I hope!)

If I wasn't so tired all the time I'd cultivate some night writing. I might just try. Definitely not a morning person.

You're an inspiration though. Churning out those books and being a mum. I'll just start to think "what would Vanda do?". I managed 700 words today. Not bad i guess. Small steps.

Great stuff. Can't wait to read what Sam is up to next. It is a Sam Sheppard novel I take it?

It certainly is, David.

And Rachael, if ever you ask yourself the question what would Vanda do? The most likely reply would be go get coffee.

Well done. BTW my copy of The Ringmaster is going to LCC with me to be given away at our panel session! It will give me a chance to talk about you :-) - if you feel your ears burning, you'll know my panel is on

When to write?
3:30 am when the hubby can't stop snoring and the characters won't leave you alone.

Me, I gotta do another chapter sez publisher to up the anti with the young love. I can barely remember 'young love'. Yay for talented 16 year old who has written me a fab chapter for the book.

Still, I wanna go do the vacuuming. Truly - don't laugh. I really, really do!

Yay! Congratulations for meeting the deadline! (Gosh 'deadline' is an appropriate term for your novel being finished isn't it? :-)

I can't wait to read this new instalment.
