This is a bit of a repeat of a comment I made to Rachael King's blog this morning.
I'd seen your name on her comment schedule from time to time, thus when I saw 'Overkill' facing me on the returns shelf at the library last week, thought I should read it (and because the blurb caught my interest :) )
I started Sunday, and will finish tonight - it's a great read. I see you have a second Sam Shepard novel out, so I'll not be a cheapskate second time around and go buy one (from an independent of course :) )
And now I see May on your blog, I must, must, must get around to 'The Blue' also.
... and there's a good question. Where are all the NZ male writers blogs?
The snow day was fantastic - what fun, couldn't stop grinning all day.
Hi Mark, lovely to hear from you. The only male NZ writer I could think of who blogs is Martin Edmond, although I think he lives in Aussie now. You can look at his at http://lucaantara.blogspot.com
I wish more guy writers would blog, I'd love to know a bit more about how a man's mind ticks.
There are plenty of overseas male crime writers who blog, so I don't know what's stopping the NZers.
When I'm not writing Crime novels I'm busy working as a research fellow at the Va'a o Tautai - Center for Pacific Health in Dunedin, New Zealand. I am the author of the Sam Shephard detective series, published by Orenda Books - Overkill, The Ringmaster, Containment and Bound. I have also written the stand alone thriller Faceless. If I'm not writing or working, I can be found on the business end of a fencing foil.

Haha ... yay. Our Dunedin branch is shut today so un-yay for that.
Although after the trouble Timaru had with the big freeze and power outtages ... snow makes me nervous.
Your picture made me smile before I pressed on it to get to your blog. Lovely funny snowman!
Very endearing fellow, your snowman, Vanda!
I left a message on my blog for you and your boys earlier today (introducing the marvelous Bill Peet + leaviing his web address).
Lucky you having your Mum for an extra day! Enjoy.

Typo: Mary, not May.

There are some other NZ male writers who run excellent blogs, the ones that spring to my mind first are:
Chris Else http://www.ventiak.com/
Scott Hamilton http://readingthemaps.blogspot.com/
Jack Ross http://mairangibay.blogspot.com/
Tim Jones http://timjonesbooks.blogspot.com/
Thanks PC - good to know some of the guys are getting in on this blogging act!
Love your snowman :-)
